Position : Finance Manager
Location : Based at Taunggyi and frequent travel to field offices
Department : Finance
Supervisor : Reports to Managing Director
Specific duties and responsibilities
• Analyze financial data, identify variances, and provide recommendations to improve financial
performance
• Monitor financial transactions and processes to maintain accuracy and completeness of
financial records.
• Monitor financial performance and provide analysis to support decision-making process
• Monitor budgets regularly in collaboration with key staff, ensuring expenditures are in line
with donor and RI requirements
• Prepare and oversee budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
• Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls in line with organizational
standards.
• Review/ check/ prepare financial reports, statements, and transactions for accuracy and
compliance with regulations.
• Lead the Semi-annual/annual budgeting and proposal development process, working closely
with department heads to develop accurate and realistic budgets.
• Coordinate financial audits and implement recommendations for improvement;
• Provide technical guidance on financial management, including budgeting, reporting and
planning
• To establish financial guidelines and requirements through collaboration with finance staff
• To conduct capacity building for finance department
• Review and analyze financial reports submitted to implementing partners.
• Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Providing necessary documentation and explanations to both internal and external audits
• Implement recommendations from audits and monitor the effective implementation.
• To conduct periodic financial reviews to identify potential issues and provide corrective
actions.
• To ensure the financial resources are effectively allocated and utilized, closely collaborate
with programme manager and programme teams
• Liaise with internal departments, programme manager, deputy programme manager and
other stakeholders to provide update financial information, address needs and support in
decision-making process
• Participate in meetings, workshops and etc. related to financial management and
representative of the organization as required
• Coordinate with external auditors, donors, and funding agencies during financial audits,
compliance reviews, and reporting requirements.
• Supervise back up financial reports and documents regularly.
• Ensure all financial activities adhere to organizational policies, including cash handling,
procurement, and compliance with financial regulations
• Check and prepare monthly/ quarterly financial reports, providing analysis and
recommendations for improvement.
• Monitor and report on cash flow, preparing and updating cash flow forecasts
• Assist in the development, monitoring, and management of organizational budgets.
• Provide financial input for budget proposals.
• Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, collaborating with other departments to
integrate financial considerations into program planning and implementation.
• Provide financial guidance, rules, and regulations support to all staff.
• Supervise and maintain financial records, ledgers, cashbooks, and reports.
• Participate in auditing processes, providing necessary documentation and support.
• Assist in the development of financial strategies and long-term financial plans.
• Assist in donor reporting and process
• Provide training to finance team.
• Handle sensitive information in a confidential manner.
• Perform any other tasks assigned by Management.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; professional certification (e.g., CPA,
CMA) is a plus
• Proven experience in financial management and supervisory roles.
• Strong knowledge of financial regulations, accounting standards, and organizational policies.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in finance or accounting, preferably in the
healthcare or nonprofit sector.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
