Youth and the danger of drug abuse

Hey Friends,

These days, out of natural curiosity, young people are giving a shot of using addictive and harmful substances such as smoking, alcohol and illicit drugs that can alter and badly affect the brain and mental faculties. They wrongly take drinking such as beer as a normal and socially accepted cultural thing, and this results in lots of young people drinking beer. Illicit substances are used and tried as a means of relaxation and entertainment. This sort of exposure has led a lot of young people to end up addicted to these illicit drugs. Therefore, we should be aware that these illicit drugs and substances that can alter the mind have become a grave danger among young people.

One can get unwanted pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases from having unprotected sex due to the use of illicit drugs that can alter the mind (for example, HIV and STDs).

Young people come into contact with illicit drugs because of the following causes:

• Using illicit drugs because of peer pressure from friends or using them as a means for relaxation and self-entertainment
• Overuse of illicit drugs as medication which results in getting to a point of abusing the drugs

Let’s take a look at other causes that contribute to the drug addiction problem. These can be

• Domestic problems
• Wrong imitation of a bad role model
• Peer pressure from friends
• Falsely possessing an impression that doing drugs gives great pleasure

The consequences of using drugs mentioned below can simultaneously occur as follows:

• Extreme anger that leads one to commit crimes
• Becoming psychologically and physically abnormal

So, friends, I hope you are now aware how horrible and scary the danger of illicit drugs is!

The most important thing is NOT TO TOUCH IT or GIVE IT A SHOT in the first place!

If you think about using any illicit drugs, remember that the consequences of using them can as well bring great harm to the people and things that you value and are dear to you.
